Hello

Hello there and maybe it’s Hello again.

I’m Lisa, a Vintage Inspired Dressmaker and Teacher.

I first started blogging in 2009 and then I took a break a couple of years ago. I really missed blogging though you know, so recently I moved my old blog over to here, fresh page and all that malarkey.

I write about my creative life; what I’m sewing, knitting or making; my vintage finds; general life musings and occassionally a cake finds its way in here. I love to share my passion for dressmaking with others. You’ll find me chatting about what inspires the garments I make, my sewing and fitting process as well as tips and links I think you might find useful.

As a self-taught dressmaker of over thirty years and a teacher for over twenty-five, I decided to combine the two things I love to do. I swapped academic teaching for teaching others to sew five years ago which is one of my better decisions. I get so much pleasure helping others learn dressmaking techniques, from beginners to more advanced fitting and pattern alteration skills.

Currently face to face classes are all on hold, so I moved over to teach online last year, which has been lots of fun as I’ve met people I never would have done before. Right now, I’m designing a website to make it easier to find out more about the classes I offer which is a big learning curve for me.

Anyways, that’s enough about me. I hope you enjoy reading my blog.
